Developed solo for the 2023 GMTK Game Jam (Theme: Role Reversal), Scrap Attack is a falling block puzzle game re-imagined as a platformer. 

Escape the level not by clearing blocks (the typical player role in a falling block puzzle), but by catching, stacking, and defending them against relentless enemies.

Join the adventure of a courageous robot stranded in the depths of a garbage chute who must make a daring escape from the clutches of the Junkyard.

• Catch the trash blocks dropped into the chute by the Claw, and skillfully stack them so that you can climb your way to freedom.

• Beware of enemy guards swarming into the chute to thwart your escape. Protect yourself - and your blocks - from their relentless onslaught and fight back by shooting them or knocking them out of the sky with a well-timed block throw.

• Neutralize enemy bombs before they detonate and destroy your progress by diffusing them with targeted shots or by crushing them with a trash block. 

• Should enemy damage start to take its toll, repair yourself with scrap metal salvaged from a trash block. Blocks can be broken by shooting them or hurling them against a hard surface but be warned - some blocks are reinforced and may be challenging to destroy.

• Scale your block tower and reach the top of the chute to escape your captors and earn your freedom!

KEYBOARD CONTROLS:

Z - Jump

Left Arrow - Move Left

Right Arrow - Move Right

X - Shoot (default) or Place Block (if carrying one)

• Holding Left or Right + X throws the block in your chosen direction
